Our Story

As a family of 6, we make a lot of trash. I began researching ways to re purpose or reuse products and came across a community online known as Zero Waste. I was in awe of the people with fantastic ideas.

When talking with a friend about this community, she told me about something she saw on Pinterest called "UnPaper Towels". I was intrigued! I found that these were double sided towels, typically with flannel and Terry cloth, that snap together to fit on a standard Paper Towel holder.
As someone who has been sewing for 15+ years, I challenged myself to make the perfect Reusable Paper Towel roll!
I found that while great for absorbing spills, flannel and cotton just didn't hold up for scrubbing. I came across a fabric called Duck Cloth that is a woven heavier weight cotton material, typically used for Aprons or Totes. I gave it a try and it was perfect!
I found through research that the best brand of snaps used on professional cloth diapering were Kam brand. I began using them and found that they hold up well with heavy use and repeated washing and drying.
Lastly, I gave my Towels a finished edge instead of a surged edge, to prevent fraying and for added life of the towels.
I started Nuggle Bugz Boutique to sell my nursery items (Bibs, burp cloths, quilts, crib bedding, etc) but found that my heart has been in making and selling my unique design of Reusable Paper Towels. In my first year, I've sold over 1,000 rolls on Etsy, at Farmer's Markets and at craft fairs!
